Jalen Hurts Soaks in the Moment After Leading the Eagles to a Dominant Super Bowl LIX Victory and Securing MVP Honors

For the past two seasons, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs were untouchable in the biggest moments. They had built a dynasty, cementing themselves as the NFL’s modern-day powerhouse. But on Super Bowl Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles flipped the script.

In a shocking 40-22 blowout, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles dominated from start to finish, completely dismantling the Chiefs and shattering their hopes of a historic three-peat. Revenge never tasted so sweet.

EAGLES CAME READY—CHIEFS NEVER STOOD A CHANCE

This wasn’t just a win—it was an absolute statement. The Eagles came out swinging, jumping to a 24-0 halftime lead, and never looked back. Hurts was in total control, throwing for 221 yards and 2 TDs, while also rushing for 72 yards and another score. The Super Bowl MVP looked like a man on a mission, silencing doubters who questioned his ability to deliver in the biggest moments.

Meanwhile, Philly’s defense was relentless.

  • 6 sacks on Mahomes

  • 2 interceptions, including a pick-six by rookie Cooper DeJean

  • Holding the Chiefs to just 23 total first-half yards

Chris Jones called it “the worst half of football we’ve played in years”, and he wasn’t wrong.

CHIEFS’ SECOND-HALF PUSH FALLS SHORT

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Mahomes and the Chiefs, it’s that they never go down without a fight.

Trailing 31-6 in the fourth quarter, Mahomes led two quick touchdown drives, giving Kansas City a glimmer of hope. But a failed onside kick, followed by a dagger touchdown drive from Hurts, sealed the deal.

Mahomes finished with 278 passing yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs, but he was under duress all night. This loss drops his Super Bowl record to 3-2, and while that’s still elite, the dream of a three-peat will have to wait.

WHAT’S NEXT?

For the Eagles, this win cements them as one of the league’s elite teams, and with Hurts locked in long-term, this might not be their last Super Bowl celebration.

For the Chiefs, the dynasty isn’t over, but this loss hurts. They’ll head into the offseason with questions to answer, especially on offense—because Mahomes can’t do it all himself forever.

But one thing’s for sure: Super Bowl LIX was a night to remember. 🏆💥

WAY-TOO-EARLY PREDICTIONS FOR THE 2025-26 NFL SEASON

With Super Bowl LIX in the books, it’s already time to look ahead to next season. Can the Eagles repeat? Will Mahomes come back with a vengeance? And which teams are ready to take the leap? Here’s an early look at what to expect in the 2025-26 NFL season.

1. CHIEFS COME BACK HUNGRY—AND MAKE IT BACK TO THE SUPER BOWL

Losing a three-peat opportunity is going to fuel Mahomes and Andy Reid all offseason. Expect the Chiefs to reload, tweak the roster, and return as contenders next year. Their biggest need? Better offensive weapons. If Kansas City adds a true No. 1 WR—maybe in free agency or the draft—this offense could be back to being unstoppable.

Prediction: Chiefs make the Super Bowl but face a new NFC powerhouse.

2. THE EAGLES WILL BE EVEN BETTER

Philadelphia isn’t going anywhere. Jalen Hurts has solidified himself as a top-tier QB, the defense remains one of the best in the league, and this team now has championship DNA. If they add a few key pieces in free agency, they could go back-to-back—something that hasn’t happened since the 2003-04 Patriots.

Prediction: Eagles make another deep playoff run but fall short in the NFC Championship.

3. DARK HORSES TO WATCH

🚀 Detroit Lions – They came so close to the Super Bowl this year. If Jared Goff keeps playing at a high level, Detroit could finally break through.

🔥 Houston TexansC.J. Stroud is the real deal. If the Texans add another playmaker, they could be a surprise contender next year.

💥 San Francisco 49ers – They’ll be in the mix again—but can they finally win the big one?

New York Jets – If Aaron Rodgers stays healthy, don’t sleep on New York making a deep playoff run.

4. WAY-TOO-EARLY SUPER BOWL PREDICTION

It’s early. Too early. But based on what we saw this year, here’s our first Super Bowl prediction for next season:

🏆 Super Bowl LX: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Detroit Lions
🎭 Winner: Chiefs (Mahomes gets revenge, dynasty continues)

One thing is for sure: the NFL never disappoints. Get ready for another wild season in 2025. 🚀🏈
